Our Staff

We have a dedicated team here to help you. Everyone has their specialty and the people who assist you will be chosen to match your specific problem.

Our Executive Director, Ken Brooks, has been working in the legal clinic system for over 30 years.  Our staff lawyers, Elena Dempsey and Jim Szpytman, are well-experienced and knowledgeable, as is our Community Legal Worker/Paralegal, Karen Schmidt.

Our Indigenous Justice Coordinator, Sara George, is dedicated to working with the local communities.

Our Your Way Forward staff, lawyer Najia Mahmud and social worker Mary Ellen Stacey, are passionate advocates.

The Clinic has access to an employment lawyer, Travis McKay, who provides focused services to Elgin and Oxford Counties as well as to two other area legal clinics.
